Replacing Batteries

The hot-swappable battery feature allows you to replace the UPS

batteries easily without turning the UPS off or disconnecting the load.

If you prefer to remove input power to change the battery: 1) Press the

Off

button and then unplug the UPS; 2) Wait 60 seconds while the

internal processorshuts down before you disconnect the battery.

Consider all warnings, cautions, and notes before replacing batteries.

WARNING

Batteriescanpresent ariskof electricalshockor burn fromhighshortcircuit

current.The following precautionsshouldbe observed:1)Remove watches,rings,

or othermetal objects;2) Use toolswithinsulatedhandles;3)Donot laytoolsor

metalparts ontop of batteries.

ELECTRICENERGYHAZARD.Donot attemptto alterany batterywiring or

connectors.Attempting toalterwiringcan cause injury.

CAUTION

Pullthe batteryout onto aflat,stable surface.The batteryisunsupportedwhen you

pullitout ofthe UPS.

NOTE When theUPSisonline,allthree BatteryCharge LEDsshould be lit before

hot-swapping the batteries.DONOT DISCONNECTthe batterieswhilethe UPSisin

Batterymode.
